Dear Colleagues,

We would like to outline the dates of key meetings/ webinars from Lincolnshire County Council and the Lincolnshire Learning Partnership for the forthcoming academic year.

The local authority and the Lincolnshire Learning Partnership, with the support of our valued partners, have been able to pull together a comprehensive virtual offer, which will support the sector over the coming year. Please find below a series of event outlines which describe the events and include the links for making your bookings.

Due to current circumstances, we are unable to outline how events will be delivered from April 2021 and we will send further communication regarding the events later in the term.

Booking Instructions

To book your attendance onto an event, please click the Eventbrite booking link that corresponds to the particular meeting you wish to attend. Please use your work email address to register, upon completion of booking you will be sent a confirmation email.

** Please note: In order to allow as many as people as possible to join meetings, we are keeping the registration open for as long as possible, therefore, the MS Teams link will be initially sent 48 hours before the meeting, for any registrations after this point, the links to join the meeting may be sent to attendees on the morning of the meeting **

Leadership Briefings
Leadership Briefings offer a valuable opportunity for headteachers to receive updates and insights on current issues, developing legislation and new initiatives as well as challenges on the horizon from the Lincolnshire Learning Partnership and Lincolnshire County Council. Attendees will also be able to provide feedback to the Partnership and the Council and to network with their peers.

These events will give attendees the strategic overview of Education in Lincolnshire and provide direction to access further support, programme and projects. In additional all of the latest COVID recovery planning will also be presented from senior officers at the local authority.

Registration is open to all headteachers, deputy headteachers and acting headteachers as well as the CEOs of Multi-Academy Trusts and their deputies. Please note, however, that if demand exceeds the number of available spaces, schools may be asked to limit attendance to two delegates.

In order to provide a choice of times, we have arranged repetitions of the events below, delegates will only need to attend one of the meetings, applicable to your setting, in each monthly round of meetings.

Governor Partnership
To support all Governing Bodies, Lincolnshire County Council delivers Governor Partnership meetings in the autumn, spring and summer terms. These provide key strategic summaries so Governors/Trustees are kept up-to-date.

Clerks Networking
The Governor Services team at Lincolnshire County Council facilitates termly Clerks’ Networking Meetings in order to support all Clerks to Governors, whether they clerk at a maintained school or an academy.

The meetings provide key updates on the role of the clerk, updates on any national or local issues and any legislative / regulatory changes that may have been made, and provide the opportunity to look at good practice from across the county. In addition to this, Clerks are able to discuss face-to-face with the LCC Governor Services team any support they may require with regard to school-related documentation or governance-related matters that are pertinent to the continued and consistent development of governance in Lincolnshire schools.

Safeguarding Briefings
An opportunity to hear the latest Safeguarding updates from a variety of speakers.   Bookings via Eventbrite will open in the Autumn term. Full details will be in the Safeguarding bulletins. Maintained Schools are expected to attend at least twice over the academic year in order to be compliant and are strongly encouraged to attend all three rounds as each contain new updates. The Safeguarding Team will remain available in the meeting for 30 minutes after in order to field questions.

Making Sense of the Single Central Record, DBS & Other Checks Course

LCC Safeguarding Events; new Safer Recruitment Filtering

Introduction to the new criminal record filtering rules and implications for schools & colleges

This briefing will provide an overview of the changes to criminal record disclosure, which came into effect on the 28th November 2020 as a result of a Supreme Court judgment in January 2019. We will also discuss the changes that all schools & colleges need to make to their current recruitment procedures as a result of the above and the legal implications of not complying.
